Staff Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to analyze financial data effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
• Perform double entry bookkeeping and ensure all transactions are recorded properly.
• Assist in budgeting processes and monitor budget variances.
• Prepare journal entries and conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies.
• Reconcile balance sheets on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Process payroll and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with public accounting firms for audits and tax preparation as needed.
• Provide support in the preparation of financial forecasts and projections.

Skills

• Strong financial acumen with a thorough understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficient in financial report writing and analysis.
• Experience with double entry bookkeeping practices.
• Knowledge of budgeting techniques and variance analysis.
• Ability to prepare accurate journal entries and perform account reconciliations.
• Familiarity with payroll processing and related compliance requirements.
• Experience in public accounting is a plus but not required.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
