Senior Cybersecurity Architect

Overview

Lead the design and implementation of secure, resilient technology across network, cloud, and enterprise environments. As a Senior Cybersecurity Architect, you’ll turn security risks and business needs into practical architecture, guide engineering teams, and strengthen protection throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).

By building security into systems and recovery plans, you help teams protect information and restore services when incidents occur.

Duties

• Define and implement IT security architecture for LAN, WAN, cloud infrastructure, and network architecture, including firewalls, virtual private networks (VPNs), routing, and access controls.
• Design identity and access management (IAM), authentication, encryption, public key infrastructure (PKI), and role-based access control (RBAC) solutions.
• Lead security analysis, vulnerability assessments, risk investigations, incident response, and incident recovery; improve security information and event management (SIEM) and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
• Guide DevSecOps practices, security engineering, cloud architecture, high availability, and disaster recovery; partner with IT, network, and software teams.
• Align security systems and documentation with NIST standards, ISO 27000/27001/27002, PCI, FedRAMP, FISMA, and applicable governance frameworks.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing cybersecurity and network security architecture across IT infrastructure and cloud computing environments.
• Working knowledge of computer networking, TCP/IP, network protocols, operating systems, system administration, and security risk management.
• Experience with security controls and tools; relevant technologies may include Cisco ASA, Cisco ISE, Splunk, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Terraform, and Active Directory.
• Ability to assess security tradeoffs, communicate architecture decisions, and collaborate across technical teams.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Linux distributions, VMware, scripting in Python or PowerShell, vulnerability research, and Agile or DevOps environments.

Pay: $70.00 - $90.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
