About this role

Overview

------------

GBSG Mid-Market, one of Intuit's fastest-growing segments, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build the industry's AI-native ERP. This is an opportunity to come in at the ground floor and shape both the product and the technology foundation — reimagining how mid-market businesses run their operations with AI at the core.

In this role, you will leverage the state of the art in AI and agentic technology to build AI-native product experiences, working at the intersection of intelligent agents, business-critical workflows, and enterprise-scale development.

If you are passionate about building world-class products, have hands-on experience with Java, Python or TypeScript, modern service architectures, and AI technologies, and are keen to tackle complex business and agentic challenges, this is the opportunity for you! Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, maintainable, and high-performing software solutions for the Mid-Market AI-native ERP — highly available, secure services and the intelligent workflows built on top of them.
  • Build AI-native product experiences leveraging state-of-the-art AI and agentic technology — LLM orchestration, tool use and function calling, retrieval (RAG), and multi-agent patterns.
  • Develop AI-native workflows that embed AI-driven automation with seamless AI-to-human collaboration, including human-in-the-loop, approvals, and explainability patterns.
  • Build systems that proactively capture data signals, prevent issues before they occur, automate processes, and improve customer decision making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams — product management, design, architecture, and partner engineering teams — to gather requirements, prioritize features, and deliver end to end.
  • Instrument, evaluate, and iterate on AI-powered features in production: offline evals, online experimentation and A/B testing, and quality/safety monitoring, interpreting results to drive informed decision-making.
  • Build data pipelines and context/retrieval foundations that power AI-driven experiences, ensuring automation, consistency, and scalability.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering collaboration, AI-assisted development practices, and a culture of innovation within the team.
  • Resolve defects across testing, pre-production, production, and post-release phases, upholding a high bar for quality and operational excellence.
  • Stay updated with developments in AI and agentic technologies — in a landscape that evolves month to month — identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (Master's degree preferred) or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in designing and developing software solutions, with strong design and coding skills in one or more of Java, Python, or TypeScript, and experience with REST/JSON service design.
  • Hands-on experience with GenAI and agentic concepts and frameworks — LLM APIs and orchestration, prompt and context engineering, RAG/retrieval, tool use and function calling — and the ability to integrate AI into practical, production applications. Experience shipping agentic experiences is a strong plus.
  • Experience designing and building distributed systems and highly scalable web services; background in business applications (ERP, financials, or operations domains) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with data processing and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, Spark) to power AI-driven experiences.
  • Advanced proficiency in cloud solutions, particularly AWS or GCP, and strong familiarity with modern CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  • Proficiency in leveraging AI-driven development tools to accelerate high-quality delivery.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with strong analytical abilities and the ability to make data-backed decisions through experimentation and measurement.
  • Proven experience driving collaboration across engineering, product, and design teams to deliver impactful outcomes.
  • Highly motivated, builder-minded individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable with ambiguity — energized by shaping a new product from the ground up.
