Product Owner (AI) Job ID: 181156 Position Type: Full Time Location: CA - Remote We are looking for an experienced AI Product Owner to lead the strategy, development, and delivery of AI-powered products and features. You will work at the intersection of data science, engineering, design, and business to translate customer needs and emerging AI capabilities into impactful product experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI/ML-driven products or features.
• Partner with data scientists, ML engineers, and software engineers to design, build, and ship AI models and features into production.
• Translate business problems into well-scoped ML/AI use cases with clear success metrics.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for AI innovation.
• Define requirements, write user stories/specs, and prioritize the backlog based on customer value and business impact.
• Collaborate with UX/design teams to ensure AI features are intuitive, transparent, and trustworthy.
• Establish and track KPIs (accuracy, latency, adoption, business impact) to measure success of AI features post-launch.
• Work closely with legal, compliance, and responsible AI teams to ensure products meet ethical, privacy, and regulatory standards.
• Communicate product plans, progress, and outcomes to executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Stay current on AI/ML trends, tools, and best practices (LLMs, generative AI, MLOps, etc.) to inform product decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field (Master's a plus).
• 3+ years as a product owner, with at least 1-2 years working on AI/ML-based products.
• Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, model lifecycle, and data pipelines.
• Experience writing PRDs, user stories, and defining success metrics for data-driven products.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, data science, design, and business teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Analytical mindset with experience using data to drive product decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with generative AI, LLMs, or conversational AI products.
• Familiarity with MLOps tools and practices (model monitoring, versioning, deployment).
• Understanding of responsible AI principles (fairness, explainability, privacy).
• Prior experience in [industry-specific, e.g., fintech, healthcare, SaaS].
• Technical background enabling direct collaboration with engineers/data scientists on architecture discussions.
