Job Summary And Qualifications

Senior DevOps Engineer

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and implement complex Azure and GCP infrastructure and operational solutions spanning multiple systems, applications, or technical domains.
  • Translate complex application and business requirements into end-to-end infrastructure architecture for significant new applications, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
  • Own technical delivery of significant infrastructure initiatives, including architecture, dependencies, sequencing, automation, implementation, cutover, validation, rollback, and transition to operations.
  • Design and implement automation-first solutions using Terraform, Ansible Automation Platform, CI/CD, APIs, and custom tooling to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and address gaps in existing processes.
  • Design and build reusable infrastructure, automation platforms, APIs, and engineering patterns used across multiple applications or environments.
  • Evaluate technical alternatives and make design tradeoffs involving reliability, recoverability, maintainability, security, performance, cost, and operational burden.
  • Drive cloud governance and FinOps improvements within supported environments, including architectural efficiency, resource utilization, lifecycle management, and cost optimization.
  • Design resilience, backup, restore, disaster-recovery, capacity, and performance improvements for critical systems.
  • Define observability, monitoring, alerting, SLI/SLO, and reliability approaches for complex systems using Dynatrace and related telemetry.
  • Participate in the production on-call rotation and provide advanced technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex infrastructure and application incidents, including issues requiring coordination across multiple teams.
  • Use Dynatrace, logs, Azure/GCP telemetry, and system-level diagnostics to identify root causes, define recovery approaches, and implement systemic corrective actions when established procedures are insufficient.
  • Develop operational patterns, runbooks, and automation that allow recurring support and recovery activities to be performed consistently by the broader team.
  • Collaborate with application development, database, security, cloud, and network engineering teams to resolve complex technical dependencies, including routing, firewall, DNS, load-balancing, and connectivity requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineers, review technical designs and implementations, and promote knowledge sharing and consistent engineering practices across the team.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, or a related technical role.
  • Advanced hands on experience designing and operating Microsoft Azure environments; experience with GCP or another major cloud platform is beneficial.
  • Strong experience designing infrastructure and reusable components using Terraform and applying infrastructure as code practices at scale.
  • Strong experience designing CI/CD and deployment automation using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or comparable platforms.
  • Strong automation or programming experience using Ansible/Ansible Automation Platform, Python, Bash, PowerShell, APIs, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience designing and operating highly available Windows/Linux, containerized, cloud-hosted, or PaaS based applications in production environments.
  • Experience diagnosing complex production issues using observability platforms such as Dynatrace across multiple layers of an application stack.
