AI Engineer – Generative AI & Enterprise Applications

Work Arrangement: Hybrid Compensation: $130,000–$160,000 base salary About the Opportunity We are seeking an AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy practical AI solutions that improve business processes, enhance decision-making, and create new capabilities across the organization.

This opportunity is ideal for a mid-level professional with a strong software engineering foundation and hands-on experience building AI, machine learning, or Generative AI applications. You will partner with technology and business teams to take solutions from initial concept through production deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy AI and Generative AI applications.
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify use cases with measurable business value.
• Build solutions using large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, APIs, and AI agents.
• Integrate AI capabilities with enterprise applications, databases, and internal and external data sources.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines supporting AI applications.
• Build and deploy solutions using cloud-based AI platforms and services.
• Evaluate models and architectures based on performance, accuracy, cost, security, and business requirements.
• Refine prompts, retrieval strategies, and agentic workflows to improve application quality.
• Support production deployments and troubleshoot performance, accuracy, and reliability issues.
• Develop testing and evaluation processes to measure results and guide continuous improvement.
• Follow established security, data privacy, and AI governance practices.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data professionals, IT leadership, and business stakeholders.
• Document technical designs, integrations, and operating procedures.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to AI engineering standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 2–4 years of professional experience in software engineering, machine learning, data engineering, AI development, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience building AI/ML or Generative AI applications.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience working with LLMs or Generative AI technologies.
• Solid understanding of software development, APIs, databases, and application architecture.
• Experience with cloud technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to move a solution from prototype through implementation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing RAG applications and working with vector databases.
• Experience building AI agents and agentic workflows.
• Familiarity with Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or Google Vertex AI.
• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other machine learning frameworks.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and MLOps or LLMOps practices.
• SQL, data engineering, and enterprise application integration experience.
• Understanding of AI security, governance, and responsible AI practices.
