Accountant

Frederick Water is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our Finance team and support the organization’s financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records, reconcile general ledger, and bank accounts.
• Prepare journal entries, financial reports, and month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Analyze financial data, investigate discrepancies, and support audits and internal controls.
• Process payroll, billing, receipts, and disbursements.
• Maintain fixed asset and investment records and assist with budgeting.
• Support grant applications, reporting, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three years of accounting or bookkeeping experience using computerized accounting software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; Munis experience preferred.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
