About this role

Your Role and Impact

As a Cost Accountant, you will help provide the financial insight that supports sound operational and business decisions. You will work closely with Operations and cross-functional partners to understand cost drivers, maintain accurate inventory and financial records, and support timely month-end and quarter-end reporting.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by improving processes, strengthening controls, and turning financial data into actionable information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities in compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate accounting policies.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, general ledger account analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations using BlackLine.
  • Analyze cost, inventory, and financial data to identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with Operations and other business functions to support inventory cycle count reporting, work-in-process audits, fixed asset verification, and sheet-to-floor inventory activities.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting issues that may affect the accuracy or timely completion of financial close activities; escalate concerns when needed.
  • Prepare quarterly reporting, including Site Analytics and other assigned financial reporting requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with SOX requirements, internal controls, and established accounting procedures.
  • Identify and support opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen financial controls, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Ability to prepare journal entries, perform account analysis, and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with close attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in cost accounting, manufacturing accounting, inventory accounting, or a related function.
  • Experience supporting financial close activities in a manufacturing or operations-focused environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working with ERP and accounting systems; SAP experience is preferred.
  • Experience using BlackLine or similar account reconciliation software.
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance, internal controls, and U.S. GAAP.
  • Ability to build productive working relationships with Operations and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Self-directed, proactive approach with a willingness to take ownership and continuously improve processes.
