Role:

Staff Data Scientist

Location: Bentonville(2- 3 days hybrid)About the role

What you'll do

• Build optimization and forecasting solutions for workforce planning, labor scheduling and day-of labor orchestration.
• Take a problem from rough idea to working prototype quickly, then shape it into a business case with clear ROI.
• Build AI agents and LLM- or VLM-based workflows for operational use cases.
• Turn data and high-level assumptions into recommendations that leadership can act on.
• Work with business leaders, engineering and research scientists to move prototypes toward production.

What you bring

• 8+ years in applied data science or operations research.
• Strong optimization and modeling skills: linear and mixed-integer programming, simulation, and forecasting, including probabilistic forecasting.
• Hands-on experience building AI agents or LLM applications.
• Production-quality Python and SQL that goes beyond notebooks.
• Business sense: you can frame problems, build business cases and present to executives.
• You've worked in fast-paced settings where you had to deliver results quickly.

Strong pluses

• Workforce or labor planning experience in any industry, such as retail,

healthcare, manufacturing or logistics.

• Experience with both operational, day-of decision-making and strategy work.

Exposure to supply chain, inventory or warehouse operations
