Job description
About this role
About The Role
The role focuses on building and shipping native mobile experiences that users interact with daily. This is hands-on, product-focused engineering: designing screens, tuning performance, handling offline states, and shipping releases on a tight cadence.
The team ships frequently and owns what it builds end-to-end. Mobile engineers here work directly with backend engineers and designers, and are expected to understand the full stack well enough to push back on API design when it matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain production features in Swift/SwiftUI (iOS) or Kotlin/Jetpack Compose (Android), depending on platform specialization
- Integrate with REST and GraphQL APIs, handling auth, pagination, error states, and offline caching with tools like URLSession, Retrofit, or Apollo
- Own feature delivery end-to-end: design review, implementation, testing (XCTest, Espresso), staged rollout, and crash-free release monitoring
- Instrument and optimize app performance: cold start time, memory footprint, render jank, and battery usage, using Firebase Performance or Xcode Instruments
- Diagnose and fix production issues using crash reporting tools (Crashlytics, Sentry) and reproduce device-specific edge cases
- Participate in architecture decisions around modularization, dependency management (SPM, Gradle), and CI/CD pipelines (Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions)
- Contribute to code reviews, mentor mid-level engineers, and raise the bar on accessibility and UI polish
What We Are Looking For
- 3–6 years of professional mobile development experience, with deep expertise in at least one platform (iOS or Android)
- Strong command of Swift or Kotlin, including modern patterns: coroutines, async/await, Combine, or Flow
- Production experience with modern UI frameworks: SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, or UIKit with programmatic layouts
- Solid understanding of mobile networking, state management, and local persistence (Core Data, Room, SQLite)
- Experience shipping apps through the App Store and/or Google Play release processes, including feature flags and phased rollouts
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
