SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The HR Specialist/Receptionist follows established procedures in the following areas: insurance benefits, retirement, and employee record maintenance.

As well as provides preliminary contact with the public for the agency; greets visitors, and answers routine requests for information; directs visitors to the appropriate division or staff person; responsible for the operation of the switchboard; provides general clerical duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred. Must have one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Bilingual preferred.
