About this role
Ecological Insulation and American Hearth & Door are seeking a motivated Sales Representative to develop new business and grow existing customer relationships in the Auburn, AL area.
This role combines outside sales, customer service, field measurements, and project coordination. You will work with builders, contractors, and homeowners to understand their needs, prepare accurate quotations, and help projects move smoothly from the initial conversation through completion.
Construction sales experience is a plus, but it is not required. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, enjoys working with people, pays attention to detail, and is eager to learn. We provide product education, hands-on training, and sales coaching to help you succeed.
This role offers a competitive base salary, uncapped commission potential, and the opportunity to build a substantial book of business.
Key Responsibilities
· Generate new business by researching prospective accounts, developing leads, networking, and maintaining consistent follow-up.
· Build relationships with builders, contractors, homeowners, and other potential customers.
· Assess customer and project needs and recommend appropriate products and services with support from our team.
· Perform timely, accurate field measurements and verify project scope to support quoting and installation.
· Prepare clear, accurate quotations and provide customers with product information.
· Respond promptly to inquiries, address questions, and follow through to close sales.
· Manage and grow assigned house and legacy accounts by identifying upcoming projects and additional sales opportunities.
· Coordinate closely with installation and operations teams to communicate project details, schedules, changes, and potential delays.
· Follow up after installation to confirm customer satisfaction, address concerns, and verify billing and payment contact information.
· Assist Accounts Receivable with customer communication and collections follow-up as needed.
· Keep customer records, sales opportunities, quotations, and follow-up activities accurate and current in company systems.
· Learn our products, services, and relevant construction practices through ongoing training.
· Monitor market activity and competitor information to identify opportunities.
· Take ownership of sales goals and suggest improvements that support speed, accuracy, and ease of doing business.
Requirements
· Ability to walk and work effectively in active construction-site environments, including navigating uneven terrain and accessing areas needed for field measurements, with or without reasonable accommodation.
· Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company vehicle eligibility requirements.
· Practical math skills to take measurements, calculate square footage and quantities, and prepare accurate estimates.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to build professional customer relationships.
· Attention to detail and dependable follow-through.
· Self-motivated and competitive, with a strong desire to achieve sales goals and win new business.
· Ability to organize your schedule, manage multiple opportunities, and work independently.
· Basic computer skills and willingness to learn company quoting and customer-management systems.
· Willingness to travel locally to customer offices and job sites.
· Commitment to following construction-site and company safety procedures.
· A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and openness to coaching.
· Experience in construction sales, building materials, estimating, or a related field is a plus, not required.
