About this role

Position Overview

Are you an experienced, passionate pioneer in technology who wants to work in a collaborative environment? As a SDET Engineer, you will have the ability to share new ideas and collaborate on high-impact projects supporting mission-critical financial services initiatives-without the extensive demands of travel. If so, consider an opportunity with Deloitte under our Project Delivery Talent Model.

The Project Talent Model (PTM) is a talent model tailored specifically for long-term, onsite client service delivery.

Recruiting for this role ends on 10/30/2026.

Work You'll Do / Responsibilities

As an SDET Engineer, you will help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of mission-critical software applications supporting financial services clients.

You will work closely with software developers, business analysts, and client stakeholders to integrate automated testing throughout the software development lifecycle, identify defects early, and validate that technology solutions meet defined functional, performance, security, and data-quality requirements.

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and test frameworks using Selenium or Cypress to support functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing of enterprise web applications.
  • Validate backend microservices and data integrations by developing and executing application programming interface (API) tests using Postman or SoapUI.
  • Design and execute performance, load, and stress tests using Apache JMeter; analyze results, identify bottlenecks, and document risks affecting application scalability and reliability.
  • Perform backend data validation using Structured Query Language (SQL), including data-mapping verification, reconciliation testing, and validation of application data flows.
  • Create test plans, test cases, and test data aligned with business requirements and acceptance criteria; track defects in Jira and collaborate in Agile ceremonies to support timely issue resolution.

A successful candidate would possess these skills:

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to meet deadlines
