About this role
Position Overview
This job posting is for a full-time position at our headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin. We are seeking a software developer to develop tools using C++ and Python. You will develop a cross-platform 3D modeling front-end application for our CONVERGE solver using the latest software development methodologies and tools.
You will also extend and enhance established products written in C++ using the Qt framework.
Duties Include
- Design and implement cross‑platform applications in modern C++ (C++17/20) using Qt
- Collaborate via code reviews, issue tracking, estimate and break down tasks
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Solver, GUI, and Applications teams) in requirements gathering and software design
- Resolve high-level design and functional issues
- Help troubleshoot and debug existing code
- Assist in supporting various test and design engineering activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Minimum 2 years of full-time, hands-on professional experience developing applications written in C++
- Knowledge of graphical user interface (GUI) programming in Qt
- Knowledge of data structure, design patterns, UML, and Git
- Prior experience in OpenGL and software development using LINUX platform is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and on a team
