  • Reporting relationship: Chief Product Officer (COO until the CPO role is filled)
  • Work location: Remote initially; in person once the local office is set up

Primary accountabilities

The Associate Product Manager supports the planning, delivery and day-to-day management of CBW Bank's digital banking products. Working under the direction of the Chief Product Officer, this role helps launch CBW's standalone digital bank for consumers and small businesses. The role also helps set up and then manages the Bank's local office.

The role turns business and regulatory needs into clear requirements, keeps launch work on schedule, and coordinates with engineering, compliance, risk, operations and business teams so that products ship secure, compliant and ready to operate.

Major duties

Product planning and requirements

  • Write and maintain product requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria for assigned features.
  • Keep the product backlog current and help prioritize it with the Chief Product Officer.
  • Do competitive and customer research, including benchmarking features against other digital banks and fintech offerings.
  • Track product metrics such as account openings, activation, usage and servicing volumes, and report results to product leadership.

Digital bank launch support

  • Support the build and launch of CBW's digital bank, keeping consumer and small business product tracks distinct.
  • Help define features such as digital onboarding, deposit accounts, payments, cards and money-management tools.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing, launch checklists, and milestone and decision-gate tracking.
  • Work with IT and the digital banking vendor to keep the project on plan, tracking deliverables, timelines, dependencies and open issues, and escalating delays to product leadership.
  • Work with operations to make sure customer service, fraud, disputes, KYC/KYB, compliance review and reconciliation processes are ready before launch.

Local office manager

  • Help plan and set up the Bank's local office, including space, furniture, equipment, IT and phone setup, and vendor coordination.
  • Manage day-to-day office operations once the office opens, including supplies, facilities, maintenance requests and vendor relationships.
  • Maintain physical security and access controls, visitor procedures and records handling in line with Bank policy.
  • Coordinate with HR on onboarding new local staff, including workspace, equipment and system access.
  • Track office expenses against budget and process invoices and expense reports.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between the local office and Bank headquarters.

Compliance and cross-functional coordination

  • Work with compliance and risk so that product requirements reflect banking regulations and Bank policy from the start.
  • Prepare product documentation that supports internal reviews, audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Run recurring project meetings, keep notes and action items, and follow up on owners and due dates.

QualificationsRequired

  • 1–3 years of experience in product management, business analysis, project management or a related role, preferably in banking, fintech or payments.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field preferred
  • Basic understanding of digital banking products such as deposit accounts, payments and cards.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to write clear requirements and documentation.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage several workstreams and deadlines at once.
  • Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets and basic product analytics.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; familiar with project management tools such as Jira or Asana.

Preferred

  • Exposure to digital banking, card issuing or payments products.
  • Awareness of banking compliance concepts such as KYC/KYB, BSA/AML, UDAAP, Information Security and consumer protection rules.
  • Experience supporting a product launch.

Personal attributes

  • Ethical and professional, with a high degree of personal and professional integrity.
  • Understands the need to keep information strictly confidential.
  • Shows good work habits, keeps a professional appearance and attitude, and follows policies and procedures.
  • Friendly, courteous, patient and professional at all times, even under adverse conditions.
  • Eager to learn, takes direction well, and is willing to be a hands-on doer.

Physical demands

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to read computer screens and email, handle mail, and talk on the phone.
  • Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

Work environment

  • Professional, deadline-oriented environment in an office or remote setting.
  • Interaction with staff, vendors and customers.
