About the Role
We are seeking an experienced B2B software salesperson to generate new business and own the sales process—from prospecting and securing qualified meetings through proposals, negotiation, and closing.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role with direct responsibility for generating meetings, building pipeline, and closing new business.
You will work closely with our CEO and technical team, who support product demonstrations, solution design, and implementation scoping. You will be expected to generate your own opportunities and independently drive the sales process.
Key Responsibilities
Prospecting and business development
- Identify and pursue target accounts, initially focusing on freight forwarders, 3PLs, warehouse operators, and related logistics businesses.
- Generate qualified meetings through outbound calls, email, LinkedIn, referrals, industry relationships, and events.
- Build relationships with operations leaders, IT decision-makers, and business owners.
- Develop referral and partner relationships that produce measurable sales opportunities.
Managing and closing opportunities
- Lead discovery conversations to understand operational challenges, existing systems, business priorities, and purchasing requirements.
- Qualify opportunities based on solution fit, decision-making authority, budget, and timing.
- Coordinate focused product demonstrations with the CEO and technical team.
- Develop proposals and business cases with internal support.
- Own follow-up, handle objections, negotiate within approved terms, and drive agreements to signature.
- Maintain clear next steps and timelines throughout the sales process.
- Coordinate a complete handoff to the implementation team, including agreed scope and commitments.
Pipeline ownership and reporting
- Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity stages, deal values, and expected close dates.
- Provide weekly updates on prospecting, meetings, pipeline progress, and obstacles.
- Meet agreed targets for qualified opportunities, pipeline development, and new business revenue.
- Share prospect feedback to improve messaging, demonstrations, and sales materials.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated success selling B2B software or technology solutions.
- A proven track record of personally sourcing and closing new business.
- Experience selling logistics, supply chain, WMS, TMS, ERP, or operational workflow software.
- Ability to conduct business-focused discovery and explain software value to operational and technical stakeholders.
- Experience managing sales involving multiple decision-makers.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
- Consistent CRM discipline and the ability to manage a pipeline independently.
- Willingness to travel for relevant meetings and industry events as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Established relationships within freight forwarding, 3PL, warehousing, or distribution.
- Experience selling software that integrates with existing enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with automation, mobile operational applications, or AI-enabled business solutions.
- Experience working directly with a CEO or within a growing software company.
- Experience developing productive referral or channel partnerships.
What Success Looks Like
- First 30 days: Learn the products and priority use cases, agree on the target account profile, build an initial prospect list, and begin outreach.
- By 60 days: Generate qualified meetings, establish active opportunities, and independently manage follow-up and next steps.
- By 90 days: Demonstrate a repeatable prospecting approach, maintain a credible pipeline, and advance qualified opportunities toward proposals and commercial decisions.
Ongoing performance will be measured by qualified meetings held, opportunities created, pipeline progression, forecast accuracy, and signed new business. Specific targets and ramp expectations will be agreed during onboarding.
