  • We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong Harness.io, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and platform automation experience to lead application migrations from Jenkins and GitHub Actions into standardized Harness CI/CD structures.
  • This is a highly hands-on technical role. The engineer will establish reusable Harness patterns, solve complex migration challenges, optimize CI/CD performance, and provide technical direction to other engineers executing application migrations.
  • The environment includes Java, Go, Node.js, and Python applications deployed across AWS and on-premise datacenter infrastructure, with Kubernetes, Helm, OpenTofu/Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps forming key components of the delivery ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical migration of Jenkins and GitHub Actions workflows into Harness.
  • Assess existing pipelines, shared libraries, actions, integrations, credentials, runners, and deployment processes.
  • Design and implement reusable Harness steps, step groups, stages, pipelines, and templates.
  • Establish standards for Harness pipeline architecture, template reuse, inputs, variables, secrets, approvals, and deployment patterns.
  • Develop migration patterns that simplify and standardize existing CI/CD implementations rather than simply reproducing legacy pipelines.
  • Design CI/CD patterns supporting Java, Go, Node.js, and Python applications.
  • Establish and support GitOps-based application and infrastructure delivery.
  • Design and maintain reusable Helm charts and Kubernetes deployment patterns.
  • Develop and integrate Infrastructure as Code using OpenTofu/Terraform.
  • Develop and integrate configuration automation using Ansible.
  • Support delivery across AWS, Kubernetes, virtual machines, and traditional on-premise datacenter environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex pipeline, build, infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues.
  • Optimize pipeline performance, reliability, caching, parallelization, resource utilization, and failure diagnostics.
  • Design self-service and reusable delivery capabilities that reduce application-team onboarding effort.
  • Establish appropriate CI/CD governance, security, approval, and policy controls.
  • Conduct pipeline, template, IaC, and automation reviews.
  • Mentor DevOps engineers and provide technical direction for migration activities.
  • Partner with application, infrastructure, cloud, architecture, and security teams to resolve migration dependencies and technical blockers.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of hands-on DevOps, CI/CD, platform engineering, SRE, build/release engineering, or infrastructure automation experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and operating enterprise CI/CD platforms.
  • Practical Harness.io CI/CD experience, including pipeline and template development.
  • Strong experience with Jenkins pipelines and migration/modernization activities.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions and Git-native CI/CD workflows.
  • Strong understanding of Git, branching/release strategies, and GitOps principles.
  • Advanced YAML and configuration-as-code skills.
  • Strong experience with Terraform and/or OpenTofu, including reusable module development.
  • Strong experience with Ansible, including roles and playbooks.
  • Strong hands-on Kubernetes and Helm experience.
  • Experience designing and maintaining reusable Helm charts.
  • Strong working knowledge of AWS infrastructure and application delivery.
  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premise datacenter environments.
  • Strong Linux, scripting, and command-line troubleshooting skills.
  • Automation experience using Python, Bash, Go, or similar languages.
  • Working knowledge of build, packaging, and dependency-management patterns for Java, Go, Node.js, and Python.
  • Experience with containers, artifact repositories, and container registries.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose complex CI/CD and infrastructure problems.
  • Ability to quickly assess existing delivery implementations and make sound architectural decisions with minimal ramp-up.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep experience with Harness.io CI and CD.
  • Harness pipeline and template architecture at organizational scale.
  • Harness Git Experience and configuration-as-code practices.
  • Harness delegate architecture and troubleshooting.
  • Experience performing Jenkins-to-Harness migrations.
  • Experience migrating GitHub Actions workflows into Harness.
  • Experience building standardized or ""golden path"" CI/CD capabilities.
  • GitOps architecture and implementation.
  • AWS and Kubernetes platform engineering.
  • CI/CD performance optimization and delivery telemetry.
  • REST API and integration automation.
  • Secrets-management and software supply-chain security experience.
  • Governance & Performance Knowledge

Experience with the following is strongly desirable:

  • DORA metrics — Deployment Frequency, Lead Time for Changes, Change Failure Rate, and Mean Time to Restore/Recovery.
  • OPA / Open Policy Agent and Policy as Code.
  • Harness or enterprise CI/CD governance and automated guardrails.
  • Software supply-chain security, artifact provenance, and SBOM concepts.
  • SAST, SCA, container scanning, and automated security controls.
  • Progressive delivery, canary, and blue/green deployment strategies.
  • Pipeline performance and reliability metrics.
  • Platform engineering and Internal Developer Platform practices.

Key Competencies:

  • Able to become productive immediately in complex CI/CD and infrastructure environments.
  • Strong automation, architecture, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Capable of independently driving migrations from discovery through production cutover.
  • Able to recognize recurring patterns and convert them into reusable platform capabilities.
  • Strong technical leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Pragmatic approach to standardizing legacy and cloud-native environments.
  • Developer-focused approach to platform engineering and automation.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Comfortable making technical decisions and resolving blockers with limited oversight.
