Job description
About this role
Product Designer, Consumer Goods
You will design products that land on shelves in stores across the country, and you will own each one from first idea to finished product. At Best Accessory Group (BAG-NY), a New York consumer products company, you will work side by side with experienced design and product leaders who will help you grow. Your work goes from sketch to store in months, not years.
What you will design
- Women's and men's beauty and personal care
- Women's and men's bath, body and wellness
- Kids, baby and pet
You will work across all three. Your portfolio grows in range, not just in volume.
What you will own
- The full product development cycle. Concept, CADs, prints, packaging, factory samples and production approval. You are not handed one step of someone else's product.
- Programs for national and off-price retailers. Your designs go in front of buyers, and you see what sells.
- The physical product. Samples, materials, color and finish are in your hands, not just on your screen.
- A modern workflow. AI tools are part of how we concept and present, and we expect you to push that further.
How we work
- Collaborative by default. You work daily with fellow designers, sales, licensing and sourcing, and with factory partners overseas.
- Direct access. Decisions get made in the room, in days, not quarters.
- Clear growth. Product Designer, then Senior, then Lead. Promotion is earned on measurable work: designs approved on first pass and turnaround time, not years served.
- Onsite, five days a week, in our Garment District studio. Samples, materials and decisions happen in person.
What you bring
- 2+ years designing consumer products, packaging, accessories or apparel graphics
- A portfolio of work that went into production
- Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and production-ready files and dielines
- The ability to run many styles at once and turn feedback fast
- A collaborative approach: you take input from design, sales and licensors and keep the work moving
Experience
- Mass or off-price retail experience
- Licensed product experience
- Experience working with overseas factories
- Experience with AI design tools
