Platform Engineer

• Strong hands-on knowledge of Google Cloud AI and LLM services, including Vertex AI, Model Garden, and Gemini
• Terraform (IaC) skills to build and maintain reusable modules for model enablement, endpoints, IAM, and networking
• Enable open-weight and partner models through Vertex AI Model Garden (MaaS and self-deploy), including quota and GPU capacity requests
• Manage the model lifecycle: version upgrades, deprecations, and moving consuming teams to newer versions with minimal disruption
• Provide production support for enabled models, including monitoring, incident triage, and working with Google support when needed
• Track model usage and cost by consuming team, and follow Schwab security, access, and governance cont

The JD is focused on:

• Enabling and operating Gemini, Vertex AI, and Model Garden models
• Managing LLM/model lifecycle (upgrades, deprecations, versioning)
• Building platform capabilities using Terraform (IaC)
• Managing model endpoints, IAM, networking, quotas, and GPU capacity
• Providing production support for AI models
• Tracking model consumption, costs, governance, and security controls
