About this role
As a Technical Program Manager, you will own and maintain the Master Schedule across complex, multidisciplinary programs. This unique role will act at the intersection of hardware, software, systems engineering, and related technical workstreams and be responsible for keeping the organization aligned and delivering on plan.
In this role, you will partner with program and engineering leaders to turn team-level plans into a coherent, executable program schedule. You will identify dependencies, analyze schedule risks, facilitate planning decisions, and provide clear visibility into milestones and delivery health.
This is a hands-on execution role that goes beyond tracking status—you will help teams resolve schedule conflicts, evaluate tradeoffs, and improve program predictability.
Responsibilities
- Own, develop, and maintain a credible, current integrated master schedule across multiple teams and technical workstreams.
- Establish the planning structure and operating cadence for collecting and validating team-level schedules, milestones, dependencies, resource assumptions, and delivery timelines.
- Integrate team plans into a logically connected program schedule with clearly defined milestones, dependencies, integration points, and critical paths.
- Partner with program managers, engineering leaders, systems engineers, and other stakeholders to validate assumptions, maintain alignment, and resolve cross-team dependencies as plans evolve.
- Analyze critical paths, schedule constraints, dependencies, milestone health, and emerging risks to identify delivery impacts and drive mitigation, recovery, or scenario plans.
- Establish and maintain schedule baselines, ensuring approved scope, sequencing, and timeline changes are accurately incorporated, controlled, and communicated.
- Lead recurring schedule reviews and provide decision-ready forecasts and visibility into milestones, risks, changes, and potential delivery impacts.
Qualifications
Required qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, program scheduling, project controls, or related discipline, including experience developing and maintaining complex integrated schedules across multiple teams.
- Hands-on experience managing milestones, dependencies, critical paths, schedule risks, baselines, and schedule changes using Microsoft Project or a comparable professional scheduling tool.
- Ability to understand complex technical workstreams and translate technical plans into executable schedule logic, supported by strong analytical, organizational, and data-quality skills.
- Experience leading schedule reviews and communicating program health, risks, tradeoffs, and recovery plans to engineering and senior leadership stakeholders, with demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority.
Preferred qualifications
- Project or scheduling certification such as PMP, PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), or PgMP.
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary hardware, software, systems-engineering, or research and development programs in quantum computing or another advanced-technology environment.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Excel, Power BI, or comparable planning, analytics, and reporting tools.
- Demonstrated systems thinking and effectiveness in ambiguous, rapidly evolving technical environments.
