About this role

Growth Marketing Specialist Credit Cards | AppCard Reports to Jeremy Rabe, Chief Growth Officer | Individual contributor About AppCard AppCard helps independent grocers connect with shoppers through loyalty, personalized offers, and rewards. Our credit card program builds on those relationships, helping shoppers earn meaningful rewards at retailers they know and trust while helping local businesses grow.

About the role

We are looking for a resourceful marketer who enjoys getting campaigns live, testing what works, and turning results into better marketing. Your focus will be entirely on marketing execution for our credit card program: acquiring new cardholders and helping them activate, make their first purchase, and keep using their cards.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role suited to someone with approximately 2-4 years of relevant marketing experience. You will work directly with the Chief Growth Officer to turn priorities into campaigns, manage the details, and follow through with merchants. We value evidence of strong execution, analytical curiosity, and rapid learning.

Prior credit card or banking experience is not required.

What you will do

Help merchants launch and promote their cards

  • Schedule and coordinate training for merchants going live, prepare marketing assets, and track launch tasks and deadlines.
  • Create and adapt merchant marketing materials; follow up to ensure assets are deployed across websites, social media, mobile apps, and other shopper touchpoints.
  • Coordinate signage production, proof artwork and specifications, and ensure materials are accurate and delivered on schedule.
  • Share campaign results and practical recommendations with merchants, keeping them engaged in ongoing card marketing.

Build and run acquisition campaigns

  • Set up launch email blasts and maintain a calendar of future campaigns for new and existing merchants, including audience selection, copy, creative, links, testing, and scheduling.
  • Launch and test SMS, push notifications, paid search, and display advertising; research and pilot additional marketing channels.
  • Implement referral campaigns and coordinate prescreen offer campaigns through email and direct mail with the appropriate internal teams and partners.
  • Test messages, creative, offers, and calls to action to learn what drives completed applications and new cardholders.

Build cardholder engagement and improve conversion

  • Implement lifecycle emails for onboarding, activation, first purchase, and ongoing usage; measure results and continually test and refine the campaigns.
  • Roll out new-user education program, translating approved content into clear communications that help cardholders understand and use their benefits.
  • Analyze the conversion funnel, identify where applicants drop off, and develop A/B tests with product and other teams to improve the application experience.
  • Use Google Analytics, UTM tracking, and internal reporting to compare campaign and channel performance and recommend what to improve, expand, or stop.
  • Manage campaign checklists and approvals, working with compliance and card program partners to use approved materials and complete required reviews before launch.

What you bring

  • Approximately 2-4 years of experience executing digital, growth, lifecycle, performance, or consumer marketing. Strong candidates with less experience and clear evidence of results are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience personally building and launching campaigns in at least one channel, such as email, paid media, SMS, or lifecycle marketing. You can explain your contribution, what you measured, and what you improved.
  • Strong writing skills and an eye for clear, effective creative; comfort adapting templates and making straightforward assets in tools such as Canva or similar software.
  • Comfort working with spreadsheets, campaign metrics, and web analytics. You can spot a performance issue, form a hypothesis, and propose a practical test.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through across multiple campaigns and merchant deadlines; confidence communicating with external partners.
  • Initiative, openness to feedback, and the ability to learn unfamiliar tools and products quickly. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.

Experience with Google Analytics, UTM tracking, email automation, or A/B testing is helpful. Backgrounds in ecommerce, retail, loyalty, agencies, startups, and other consumer businesses are welcome. You do not need experience in every channel listed above.

How success will be measured

Campaigns launch accurately and on time; merchants consistently deploy assets; and testing leads to measurable improvements in application completion, acquisition efficiency, activation, first purchase, and repeat card usage. Reporting clearly connects results to the next action.

What we offer

  • Direct access to the Chief Growth Officer, professional development, and the opportunity to build practical growth marketing skills in an expanding card program.
  • Benefits include competitive salary and incentives, stock options, flexible working arrangements, health, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, a 401(k) plan, vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, FSA and HSA options, and commuter benefits.
  • Salary Range 70-90k annual salary Location and contact Candidates are expected to work on site at our Financial District office in New York.
