  • Provide urgent care, primary care, pediatrics, and acute pain management within your scope; prescribe medications in accordance with applicable Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
  • Perform procedures such as suturing, injection administration, intravenous (IV) insertion or infusion, phlebotomy, and specimen collection when appropriate.
  • Document assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up in electronic medical record (EMR) or electronic health record (EHR) systems; protect patient privacy under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals on referrals, case management, discharge planning, and escalation of emergency or complex cases.

Qualifications

  • Required: Current nurse practitioner credentials and authorization to practice as an advanced practice provider in the applicable jurisdiction; basic life support certification as required.
  • Demonstrated patient assessment, healthcare diagnosis, medication administration, medical documentation, and client communication skills.
  • Urgent care, emergency medicine, emergency room, clinic, outpatient, hospital, acute care, or medical-surgical experience is relevant; critical care, intensive care unit (ICU), trauma center, inpatient, or hospital medicine experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems; Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks experience is helpful. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, infection control, and ICD-10 or CPT coding is valued.
  • Additional experience in geriatrics, senior care, assisted living, nursing homes, hospice, dialysis, gastroenterology, occupational health, telehealth, behavioral health, or care for children is welcome.
