About this role
Senior Sales Manager - Robotics & Industrial Automation 📍 Detroit, Michigan We're partnering with a fast-growing robotics and industrial automation technology company that's expanding its presence in the US and looking for a Senior Sales Manager to help drive the next phase of growth. This is a role for someone who combines technical credibility with genuine new-business ability .
You'll work with enterprise manufacturers across the US, helping them deploy advanced automation technology into real production environments.
What you'll be doing Grow existing enterprise manufacturing accounts while actively winning new customers Build your own pipeline and originate new opportunities across the US Develop relationships across automotive, aerospace and other advanced manufacturing environments Manage and grow relationships with robot OEMs, systems integrators and distribution partners Own complex technical sales cycles from initial engagement through demonstration, proof-of-concept and close Work alongside Applications Engineers on feasibility projects and customer deployments Represent the business at automation shows, OEM events, tech days and partner events Become a key commercial presence for the company within the US automation ecosystem What we're looking for Minimum 5+ years selling industrial automation or robotics technology to enterprise manufacturers.
An established Midwest manufacturing network is a significant advantage. Most importantly, we're looking for a hunter . We want someone who can demonstrate where they've personally created business — customers you've identified, relationships you've built and deals you've taken from initial approach through to close.
You'll also need to be technically credible. An engineering background would be advantageous, but it's not essential if you have the technical depth to demonstrate sophisticated automation technology and lead a technical sales conversation without needing an engineer beside you. Experience working through robot OEM, systems integrator or distributor channels would be particularly valuable.
This will suit someone who enjoys the autonomy of a high-growth environment: building their own pipeline, developing a market without relying on a huge established brand, and taking genuine ownership of the US opportunity. You'll need to be Detroit-based or willing to relocate .
The role starts as a senior individual contributor, with the opportunity to develop into a US commercial leadership position as the company and team grow. Interested? Message me directly on LinkedIn for a confidential conversation.
