Registered Nurse (RN)-Psychiatric Nurse

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health nursing, with experience in various settings such as hospitals, assisted living facilities, and ambulatory surgery centers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of an individuals' mental health status and needs.
• Conduct routine weekly visits with individuals to monitor their progress and health to support their overall recovery.
• Supervise the administration of medications and monitor individuals for side effects or adverse reactions.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Document medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care post-treatment.
• Provide education and support to individuals and regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Maintain a safe and sterile environment by adhering to infection control protocols.
• Utilize medical terminology effectively in communication with the healthcare team.

Experience

• Previous experience as a nurse in psychiatric settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical documentation practices and electronic health records.
• Knowledge of medication administration protocols and discharge planning processes.
• Experience in sterile processing techniques is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to psychiatric care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
