About this role
Our client, an AI startup that focuses on processing millions of events and activities every day around the world, is looking for a full-time Product Marketing Manager.
As their Founding Product Marketing Manager, you'll take on a blank canvas as their very first product marketing hire. You'll work directly with the founders — both of whom previously exited their startups to Google — to shape the company's trajectory, bridging product strategy, user psychology, and market distribution. We've built the intelligence engine; now we need you to help scale the movement.
This isn't a traditional corporate marketing role. They operate with an agentic engineering process, meaning you won't just pass feedback to an engineering queue — you'll have the mandate and tooling to ship copy, flows, and marketing features directly to production.
What You'll Do
As their Founding Product Marketing Manager, you'll define how they sound, grow, and ship across the consumer experience. Key opportunities and responsibilities include:
- Owning the Early Brand Voice: You'll define their brand and content voice and maintain narrative consistency across the app, app stores, push notification ecosystem, and social channels.
- Shipping Direct-to-Prod via Agentic Engineering: You'll act as a core driver on the product team, directly tweaking flows, building features, shipping in-app copy, and rapidly iterating based on consumer data.
- Running Email and Social Channels: They have the opportunity to speak to current and future users across a variety of channels, so you'll build the strategy to do so clearly and effectively.
- Building a Virtuous Cycle with Activity Organizers: The company has traditionally focused on activity-goers, but organizers, venue owners, and local businesses contact them every day. You'll build the strategy and features that help them find attendees and turn them into growth vectors for the company.
- Optimizing the "Multiplayer" Experience: Going out is inherently social, so you'll develop growth frameworks around social coordination, group event sharing, and viral invite loops.
What they are Looking For:
- 3–7 years of product marketing or growth experience at a consumer tech (B2C) startup, social platform, or marketplace app.
- A great writer.
- A hybrid marketer/shipper: You're highly technical or product-adjacent, you love AI tools, and you're excited by an environment where a marketer can ship assets and features directly to production without a multi-week engineering bottleneck.
- Obsessed with consumer psychology: You understand why people leave their couches, how friend groups plan activities, and how to write the microcopy that drives high-intent action.
- Data-informed: You view brand narrative through the lens of growth metrics. You optimize for DAU/MAU, churn, CAC, and LTV, and design experiments to move them.
Their Culture
They are a team that values collaboration, proactive problem-solving, and strong empathy. You'll thrive here if you:
- Are a ruthless prioritizer: Working closely with founders requires a high degree of autonomy, extreme execution velocity, and comfort with ambiguity.
- Are a scrappy operator: You don't wait for a perfect brief. You prototype campaigns, test channels, and drive results with whatever's available.
- Think in systems, not just tactics: You see how campaigns, channels, and product features connect into a growth engine. Sustainable compounding matters more to you than a spike.
