Job description

About this role

The Media, Graphics & Compute Technologies (MGC) group provides the media and graphics foundation for all of Apple's innovative products, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. The Real-Time Video Streaming team is seeking a passionate and dedicated software engineer to join us.

We develop the technology inside iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS that powers real-time media streaming features that help people stay connected.

Our team is responsible for the low-latency video streaming technology powering FaceTime, Continuity Camera, HomeKit Secure Video, and more! We are looking for a skilled engineer to develop software for real-time video streaming pipelines — for example, streaming video from one device’s camera, over the network, to another device’s display.

You are proficient in multi-threaded systems software development. You write elegant and maintainable object-oriented code in Objective-C, C, or C++. You have excellent attention to detail.

You are highly motivated, self-directed, and a fast learner with strong communication skills. You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or have equivalent work experience.

You have experience with low-latency audio/video streaming and networking protocols: WebRTC, VoIP, RTP, UDP, video codecs, etc.
