As a Back-End Software Engineer, Senior Specialist reporting to the Senior Manager you'll play a critical role in designing and delivering cloud-based data solutions that power financial markets globally. You will be part of a high-performing engineering team, contributing to complex, production-grade software systems that serve external clients across the world.

This role has set work hours
Wednesday to Sunday - 12 noon to 8 PM EST
Responsibilities
- Lead production support activities, including triaging, investigating, and resolving issues through code or configuration fixes and deployment coordination.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain back-end software applications that support critical financial market infrastructure.
- Partner with product managers and cross-functional teams globally to translate business requirements into scalable, reliable software solutions.
- Conduct code reviews, contribute to technical design discussions, and uphold engineering quality standards across the team.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, supporting their development and sharing technical expertise.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience as a back-end software engineer, with strong proficiency in Java.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Solid knowledge of relational databases, SQL, RESTful API development, and the Spring/Spring Boot framework.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot production issues and deliver reliable, high-quality solutions in a dynamic environment.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with data lake and data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with big data tools and technologies.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and containerization platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.

This position will be located in Toronto and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.

- The base pay range for this role is $104,000 - $148,000.
- In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth.
