Role Overview:
An occupational therapist assesses, plans, and implements rehabilitative programs to improve patients' daily activities, mobility, cognition, strength, coordination, and range of motion, supporting recovery from disease or injury.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops and revises individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and families, providing education, discharge instructions, and community resource referrals.
- Evaluates patients' needs, establishes care goals, and monitors progress, adjusting plans as necessary.
- Documents assessments, treatment sessions, and discharge plans according to departmental guidelines.
- Ensures compliance with ethical standards, maintains patient confidentiality, and adheres to infection prevention protocols.
- Communicates effectively with team members, participates in meetings, and supports a positive patient experience using AIDET principles.
- Engages in professional development, completes required competencies, and mentors new staff.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist and BLS certification.
- Effective communication, customer service orientation, teamwork, and basic computer skills.
