Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and govern enterprise-wide Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Configuration Management frameworks to ensure secure, consistent, and repeatable infrastructure deployments.
  • Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, Salt states, and other automation artifacts to manage configuration drift, enforce standards, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Define and manage the desired state of servers, virtual machines, containers, cloud resources, and platform services across hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Architect and evolve Configuration Management strategies, standards, and governance models that support scalability, compliance, and business continuity requirements.
  • Build scalable, idempotent, and auditable automation pipelines for infrastructure provisioning, configuration deployment, patch management, and compliance enforcement.
  • Collaborate with cloud, platform, security, and engineering teams to integrate Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration Management practices into enterprise DevOps and CI/CD workflows.
  • Establish automated compliance controls, configuration validation processes, and reporting capabilities to support security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize configuration management platforms, provide technical leadership on automation best practices, and mentor engineers on Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Five to six years of relevant experience

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Configuration Management platforms such as Ansible Automation Platform (preferred), Salt, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions within large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure automation, configuration drift management, system compliance, and desired-state configuration principles.
  • Experience building scalable automation frameworks for provisioning, configuration management, patching, and operational governance.
  • Proficiency with Linux and Windows Server administration, including automation of operating system configuration and lifecycle management.
  • Experience integrating automation solutions with CI/CD pipelines, source control platforms (Git), and DevOps toolchains.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, including automation of cloud infrastructure resources.
  • Strong troubleshooting, scripting, and problem-solving skills with experience using automation languages and tools such as Python, YAML, PowerShell, or Bash.

Location expectations

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S.

Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00
