About this role

Employer-provided description, formatted for easier reading.

Company Description

PortfolioFuture is an independent fund discovery and intelligence company focused on empirical research into ETFs and mutual funds. The organization evaluates and ranks funds, analyzes fund substitution and relative performance, and decomposes investable returns to help investors and financial advisors understand the real contribution of individual products.

For asset managers, PortfolioFuture connects independent fund research with portfolio and ownership intelligence to highlight credible competitive positioning and distribution opportunities. Research is strictly independent, and commercial relationships do not influence rankings, substitution outcomes, or conclusions, ensuring that stronger products have a fair opportunity to be recognized.

Role Description

This remote User Experience Developer internship focuses on designing and building intuitive, data-rich digital experiences that make complex fund research accessible to users. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with product and research teams to translate analytical insights into clear user flows, interfaces, and visualizations.

The intern will implement front-end components, refine layouts and visual design, and continuously improve usability based on feedback and testing. The role also involves documenting design decisions, maintaining consistency in interaction patterns, and contributing to iterative enhancements across web-based tools and dashboards.

Qualifications

  • Strong front-end development skills, including experience with modern web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks).
  • Demonstrated ability in user experience (UX) and user experience design (UED), including user flows, wireframing, and interaction design.
  • Visual design capabilities for creating clean, legible interfaces and data visualizations that support complex financial information.
  • Foundational software development skills, such as version control (e.g., Git), testing, and collaborative coding practices.
  • Interest in financial markets, investment products, or data-driven applications is highly beneficial.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to communicate design and technical decisions clearly.
  • Currently pursuing or having completed studies in computer science, human-computer interaction, design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote environment and collaborating asynchronously with a distributed team.
