Job Summary

Join the Digital Marketing team responsible for shaping the digital presence of the world's cybersecurity leader. Palo Alto Networks is looking for a visionary Principal UX Designer to drive the strategic direction and design language of our global website. This role is pivotal in accelerating our "platform-first strategy" and leading our transition to modern, AI-ready digital experiences.

As a Principal UX Designer, you are expected to be an expert in the field—someone who doesn't just tie complex knots, but envisions and invents an exemplary future for our digital experience. You will exercise wide latitude in determining objectives, influencing cross-functional teams, and creating formal networks with key decision-makers to determine the direction of new digital initiatives for the overall organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work on building leading-edge digital experiences, grounded in data and established design principles that delight users across digital touchpoints.
  • Address and develop future design concepts, methodologies, and practices to incorporate into Palo Alto Networks' digital processes.
  • Move beyond current industry best practices to pioneer entirely new digital design systems, AI-driven design operations, and hyper-personalized experiences that redefine the cybersecurity digital experience.
  • Leverage leading-edge AI to prototype complex interactions rapidly, explore personalized user journeys at scale, and dictate future concepts for design system operations (automated documentation, intelligent naming, accessibility checklists).
  • Use professional concepts to develop resolutions to critical UX issues and broad design matters, seamlessly blending business goals with intuitive customer journeys.
  • Create formal networks and operating rhythm with key decision-makers across product, marketing, and engineering. Serve as a strategic internal and external spokesperson for our digital design organization.
  • Operate with high independence in the completion of day-to-day work. Act as a mentor and coach for designers on the team.
  • Exercise wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches on special, high-stakes assignments, such as design direction of the new homepage or rollout of modular conversational AI component libraries.
  • a unique blend of deep and broad knowledge in UX, UI, and front-end architectures to elevate our accessible, and reusable design system.

Qualifications

  • 15 years of experience in UX and digital experience design, preferably in B2B, SaaS, or cybersecurity environments. Large digital agency experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design or a related field.
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert with a unique blend of deep and broad digital design knowledge in enterprise B2B, SaaS, or cybersecurity environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to present critical design solutions, influence senior stakeholders, and act as a spokesperson for the user experience at the highest levels of the company.
  • Deep Figma expertise including advanced prototyping, auto-layout, AI, and design-to-code tooling.
  • Experience designing components for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar enterprise-grade CMS platforms.
  • Strong judgment in utilizing AI-assisted tools in design workflows
  • Expert knowledge of accessibility standards to ensure all leading-edge concepts remain inclusive and compliant on a global scale.
