Responsibilities
- Assess children’s functional abilities, developmental milestones, and sensory processing needs to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions aimed at improving fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care activities (ADLs), and overall independence.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and medical professionals to coordinate comprehensive care strategies.
- Assist with discharge planning by preparing families for ongoing therapy needs and providing home exercise programs.
- Support children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by designing tailored interventions that promote communication, social skills, and adaptive behaviors.
- Conduct therapy sessions in various settings such as outpatient clinics and schools
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress, update care plans regularly, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Engage in case management activities to monitor patient outcomes and facilitate smooth transitions between care settings.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) with pediatric specialization.
- Proven experience working with children in diverse environments such as outpatient clinics, early intervention programs, schools, or inpatient facilities.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and developmental milestones.
- Experience assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), discharge planning, and case management for pediatric patients.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other disabilities to promote functional independence.
- Excellent patient care skills combined with a compassionate approach to working with children and families.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
