WebstaurantStore, a Clark Associates company, is an online restaurant supply company seeking a Front-End Developer Intern for its Storefront engineering team. The intern will contribute to customer-facing e-commerce features, write tested and reusable code, collaborate with designers and product owners, and gain hands-on experience with front-end development tools and workflows.

Responsibilities

Contribute to real features on our e-commerce site alongside both Frontend and Fullstack engineers, with code review and guidance every step of the way Get hands-on exposure to React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS in a production codebase, along with the tools and workflows our team uses daily Sit in on technical planning sessions, collaborating with product designers and product owners to see how a feature goes from idea to shipped product Write tests for your changes and contribute to documentation as part of your feature work Help maintain shared team tools and our component library under the guidance of your mentor Pair-program with team members and build toward independently owning small features by the end of the internship Complete other special projects as assigned Complete a presentation outlining your projects, contributions, and feedback at the end of the program

Qualifications: Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection Access to a home router and modem A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.)

The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc Legal residents of one of the following states: (AK, AL, AR, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, and WY) Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program Foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Willingness to learn matters more than prior production experience We are looking for driven, motivated candidates who are: Proactive — motivated to learn, work collaboratively, and leave things better than they found them Dependable — meet commitments consistently and communicate roadblocks early Problem solvers — able to dig into a bug or puzzle through a tricky layout Passionate — excited about code and eager to work with new technology Great communicators — able to explain their work clearly and keep the team informed Able to flourish in a fast-paced, changing environment Willing to independently take initiative and ownership of problems to find solutions Able to provide feedback on team/company processes and projects Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred Strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible) Computer Science, Web Development, or related field preferred Any major with relevant experience is welcome Some exposure to React (coursework, personal projects, or bootcamp) is a plus Prior internship experience is a plus For candidates further along in their studies (e.g., entering their final year), a genuine interest in WebstaurantStore's mission and business is a strong plus
