Position Overview

The State of South Carolina is seeking a

Business Intelligence Analyst

to support data analysis, business intelligence, public-facing dashboard development, database environments, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.

The selected consultant will analyze organizational data, develop data-driven insights, support Tableau dashboards, work with database environments, assist with CRM development and support, and create documentation that enables the effective use and future enhancement of dashboards and data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform data analysis on real estate, fleet metrics, financial data, and other organizational datasets.
  • Develop data-driven insights and recommendations for business and management stakeholders.
  • Develop, deploy, maintain, and support

Tableau dashboards

, including public-facing dashboards.

  • Work with data visualization and business intelligence tools such as

Tableau and Microsoft Power BI

.

  • Perform database development and data-related activities using

Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Synapse, or similar technologies

.

  • Apply database principles and design concepts to support data solutions.
  • Develop and/or support CRM platforms such as

Salesforce, Zendesk, HubSpot, or similar systems

.

  • Use tools such as

Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Python, R, and SAS

for data analysis and reporting.

  • Translate business and data requirements into effective analytical and technical solutions.
  • Create detailed documentation supporting dashboards, processes, data solutions, and future modifications.
  • Explain complex data concepts and processes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in software development lifecycle methodologies including

Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Lean, and DevOps

.

  • Identify data-focused strategies that improve efficiency and support organizational decision-making.
  • Collaborate with business, technical, and project stakeholders throughout the development and support lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in

Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field

.

  • Experience with

Tableau development and deployment

.

  • Working knowledge of

database principles and database design

.

  • Experience performing

data analysis and developing data-driven insights

.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to document and explain complex concepts and processes to different audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with

Microsoft SQL Server

.

  • Experience with

Azure Synapse or similar data environments

.

  • Experience with

Microsoft Power BI

.

  • Experience with

Salesforce, Zendesk, HubSpot, or other CRM platforms

  • Experience with

Python, R, SAS, and advanced Excel

  • Experience with public-facing dashboards and data visualization.
  • Experience with data modeling, data architecture, or information architecture.
  • Experience with Business Analysis or requirements documentation.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, Lean, DevOps, or other SDLC methodologies.

Work Location

This position is

fully onsite in Columbia, South Carolina, 5 days per week

.

Candidates may be located anywhere in the United States; however, the selected candidate must be able to work onsite in Columbia, SC.

South Carolina residency is not required.

The candidate must also be able to work during

Eastern Time Zone hours

.

All travel, relocation, and onsite-related costs are the responsibility of the selected resource.

Contract Information

  • 12-month contract
  • Possible extension
  • One virtual/online interview round
  • Selected candidate will work through Computer Consultants International (CCI) and represent CCI at the State of South Carolina.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on

Business Intelligence / Data professional

with experience in

Tableau, SQL/database environments, data analysis, dashboard development, and business intelligence

Candidates with backgrounds such as

Business Intelligence Analyst, BI Developer, Tableau Developer, Data Analyst, Data Visualization Analyst, or Data/Information Architect
