About the Role

The Occupational Therapist will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, provide skilled therapeutic interventions, and help patients improve functional independence and quality of life. The OT will work collaboratively with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations based on physician referrals.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' functional goals and clinical needs.
• Provide skilled OT interventions to improve:
• Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
• Strength and coordination
• Fine motor skills
• Cognitive and functional abilities
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, and strategies to improve independence.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Follow HIPAA requirements, organizational policies, and professional OT standards.

Required Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapist license in New York State.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and patient-care skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an outpatient rehabilitation or therapy setting.
• Experience treating:
• Orthopedic patients
• Neurological conditions
• Post-surgical patients
