As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will help transform operational data into useful, reliable information for decision-makers. This position is well suited for an early-career to mid-level BI professional who has strong foundational skills and wants the opportunity to grow across SQL, ETL, database design, data warehousing, and business intelligence.

Your responsibilities may include

Position Description

  • Work directly with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate those needs into data, reporting, and analytics solutions.
  • Explore multiple business systems and data sources to identify information needed to support program requirements.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, relationships, anomalies, and opportunities for improved decision-making.
  • Develop descriptive, inferential, and predictive analytical solutions when appropriate.
  • Design and develop dashboards, reports, visualizations, and other business intelligence products.
  • Design, model, develop, and maintain relational database structures.
  • Design and enhance data warehouse structures and reporting solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes.
  • Write and optimize SQL used for data analysis, transformation, validation, reporting, and application support.
  • Perform detailed data analysis, testing, troubleshooting, validation, verification, and data-quality assessments.
  • Develop strategies for handling incomplete, inconsistent, or anomalous data while understanding its impact on the business.
  • Learn and document program data structures, relationships, and business rules.
  • Research emerging technologies and recommend practical improvements to database, data warehouse, reporting, and BI solutions.
  • Collaborate with software developers, senior BI analysts, the Program Technical Lead, and Program Manager.
  • Communicate progress, risks, findings, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or a similar technical field is required.
  • Two years of directly related professional experience may substitute for one year (30 credit hours) of education, up to a maximum substitution of two years (60 credit hours).
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, or a closely related role is preferred.
  • Approximately 3 years of overall professional experience in information technology, software development, data, or related technical work is preferred.
  • Demonstrated, applied experience with business systems analysis, relational databases, data warehousing, ETL, SQL, business intelligence, and data visualization.
  • Experience with procedural and object-oriented software development technologies.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to successfully complete all required federal security/suitability requirements, including a Tier 3 investigation and eligibility for a Common Access Card (CAC). An existing active DoD security clearance is highly preferred.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification is required prior to beginning billable work on the contract and must remain current. Candidates who already hold Security+ are highly preferred.
  • This position supports a hybrid work environment, subject to customer approval. The primary duty location is JBSA-Randolph, Texas, and employees working remotely must be available to report to the customer site within 48 hours of notification. Local candidates or candidates willing to relocate to the San Antonio area are preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
  • Experience with business intelligence, reporting, dashboards, and data visualization tools such as Power BI
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining ETL/data integration processes
  • Knowledge of relational database and data warehouse design and data modeling
  • Strong analytical skills, including data validation, troubleshooting, and data quality assessment
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical data and BI solutions
  • Experience working with multiple data sources and complex business systems
  • Software development experience with procedural and/or object-oriented languages
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Desired Skills:

  • Oracle and PL/SQL experience are a plus.
  • Experience with GitLab, or other development pipeline tools
  • Data modeling tool experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
