Position Title: IT Manager

Department: Information Technology

Reports To: Director of Infrastructure & Support Services

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $98,384 - $ 120,598/yr.

Position Summary

The IT Manager/Security Officer serves as a key onsite IT resource for Bath Community Hospital and is responsible for supporting facility implementation and technology needs while ensuring that hospital operations are conducted within an environment that protects and controls internal data, resources, and client information.

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrates ability to serve as a key onsite IT resource for facility implementation and support
  • Demonstrates ability to participate in new module/application testing and implementation for the facility
  • Works with Department Managers to deliver hands-on training as needed
  • Performs quality audits and tracks metrics related to system use
  • Promotes system security and patient confidentiality and helps ensure compliance
  • Builds strong relationships with nurses, physicians, and core team members
  • Provides updates and information related to security matters relevant to BCH administrative officers
  • Ensures implementation of security-related policies, procedures, and guidelines related to the protection and control of internal data, resources, and client information
  • Implements and maintains a mechanism for the continued monitoring and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Develops and implements a risk assessment methodology to ensure that high-risk security issues are being adequately addressed and controlled
  • Selects appropriate security-related products to be used by the organization, both internally and externally, for the protection and control of internal data, resources, and information
  • Creates guidelines to be used in the development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of recovery and restoration plans for the hospital information system
  • Terminates employee access and rights upon resignation or termination from hospital-wide systems
  • Participates in the evaluation of enhanced technologies and communications being considered by BCH to ensure that they fit within the overall security architecture
  • Provides security rights and passwords to new employees
  • Demonstrates knowledge of environmental safety
  • Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate infection control guidelines
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate critical information
  • Provides on-call assistance as needed
  • Performs other tasks as needed and works hours outside of scheduled shifts when required by hospital operations
  • Participates in required and elective educational activities to develop and maintain skills and completes them in a timely manner
  • Attends department and hospital meetings, as required
  • Complies with all BCH policies and procedures including professional licensure criteria in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: Experience in computer sciences
  • Skills: Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, with experience in making presentations to administrative staff
  • Skills: Excellent management and organizational skills
  • Skills: Excellent knowledge of technology and its use in the organization

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit as required to perform job duties

  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to hear alarms on equipment and instructions from physicians and department staff

Working Conditions

  • Hospital and administrative/technology environment
  • Indoor and outdoor work as required by hospital operations

  • Work hours may extend outside of the scheduled shift based on hospital operational needs
