Position:- Physical Therapist

Location:- Trenton, New Jersey area

Position Purpose

One Physical Therapist is required to provide onsite physical therapy services at a county correctional facility in the Trenton, New Jersey area.

The Physical Therapist performs initial evaluations, delivers treatment sessions, and completes follow-up evaluations as ordered by facility physicians, working within a secure custodial environment.

Qualification Requirements

• This is a niche requirement and the qualification bar has been kept deliberately open. A candidate qualifies if they meet the following:
• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree, or an active New Jersey Physical Therapist license.
• The candidate must have their own physical therapy equipment.
• No other qualification criteria are set at this time.
• Years of experience, prior setting and specialization are not being screened on. Candidates who meet the two criteria above should be submitted.

Scope of Services

• The anticipated annual workload is:
• Approximately 40 initial physical therapy evaluations per year.
• Approximately 650 treatment sessions per year.
• Follow-up evaluations as ordered by facility physicians.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform initial physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for facility residents.
• Deliver treatment sessions in accordance with the agreed plan of care and physician orders.
• Complete follow-up evaluations as ordered by facility physicians.
• Document all evaluations, treatments and care plans in accordance with facility and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with facility medical staff on patient care priorities and scheduling.
• Maintain active licensure and all required professional credentials throughout the engagement.
• Adhere to facility policies on patient confidentiality, workplace safety and security protocols.

Work Environment

• Onsite at a secure county correctional facility. Remote work is not available for this role.
• Patients are facility residents and may be escorted by facility staff.
• Scheduling is agreed with the facility around its operating and security requirements.
